Price per square metre does not describe a project’s total scope. Similar areas may need very different preparation and repairs. A useful quotation identifies materials, execution, exclusions and handover.
Area and access
Open areas differ from fragmented spaces around racks or machinery. Explain equipment access, storage, available hours and operational restrictions.
Existing condition
Old coatings, oil contamination and joint damage can increase preparation. Some defects emerge during inspection or stripping. Agree how additional work will be assessed and approved.
System and finish
Epoxy materials, texture and thickness follow the use. Polishing stages, aggregate exposure and treatments influence concrete finishing. Compare equivalent specifications and samples.
Working-life costs
Consider cleaning, local renewal and reopening requirements. A lower initial figure may omit necessary work. Review written exclusions, handover conditions and any offered warranty.
Common questions
Can a price precede inspection? It may be provisional. Are joints included? The scope should state this. Why no universal figure? Substrate, system and access vary by project.
